Award-winning Storywood Tequila is delighted to announce a new distribution partnership with Proof Drinks in the UK. Proof Drinks will take on all sales and distribution responsibilities for the Storywood Tequila range, which will increase Storywood’s exposure to the UK market.

Storywood Tequila has just arrived in the UK and, as the only tequila fully matured in whisky casks, is a genuine world first. Proof Drinks has been specialising in the import, distribution, sales and marketing of premium drinks brands since 2010 and is well placed to bring Storywood’s innovative range of tequilas to a wider UK audience, fitting nicely into their fantastic agave portfolio which includes the fast-growing Cazcabel range.

Storywood Tequila has the heart of Mexico and the soul of Scotland and was founded by Scottish chef, whisky enthusiast and wood ageing expert, Michael Ballantyne, who was inspired to create this innovative tequila while spending time in his mother’s hometown of San Miguel De Allende, Mexico. An unexpected meeting with master distiller Luis Trejo at Distiller La Cofradia was the start of his journey creating Storywood’s enticing range of cask aged tequilas. The premium tequilas start with a 10 year old mature 100% Blue Weber agave, which is harvested from the lowland region of Jalisco and is married with the natural spring water from Volcan de Tequila that flows down from the mountains. This liquid is then aged in handpicked Speyside whisky casks, flown over from Dufftown, Scotland. Proof Drinks is delighted to be championing multi award-winning Storywood Tequila.

James Pattison has recently been appointed Brand Director for Storywood having previously worked at Hi-Spirits with Jeremy Hill.
